The National Militia Standards
The National Militia Standards were first conceived by a group of Militia leaders from all over the country on a Bulletin Board know as, A Well Regulated Militia (AWRM).
These men saw a need to standardize certain aspects of the Minuteman's training for the purpose of unifying the Militia across the country. Since there are many different groups that are all governed individually, this was a way to train their members to a standard so that when they interacted, they would know what skill level the individual members were at. Thus being able to better coordinate joint exercises and training events.
Many units across the country have adopted these standards although they are not mandatory. They are highly recommended to all and freely usable by all. It is our hope that one day all Minutemen will be trained to this standard and that it therefore brings professionalism to the Militia as a whole.
These are not meant to be the "last word" in training but a guideline standard by which to begin and a goal to achieve. We hope that you will find them useful to the unit leaders, members and even to those that are out there by themselves.
I would encourage you however that if you are out in an area by yourself that you would either search out an existing unit or begin one yourself.
